Pre-med courses are for people considering a career in medicine. These courses have two main purposes:
Firstly, some courses provide an insight into medicine as a career, showing you the highs and lows of life as a doctor. This will help you to decide if medicine is the right career for you and will provide useful background information when you have to justify your choice of career at interview.
Secondly, pre-med courses can provide detailed information about how to apply for a medical degree, how to prepare for the application and interview, how to choose the best medical schools to suit you and how to maximize your chances of being accepted into medical school.
Pre-med courses can last from half a day to several days but don't misinterpret quantity for quality. We hope you will agree that the Medi-Quest course offers everything you need from a pre-med course in an intensive one-day course. Don't just take our word for it, over 99.7% of attendees would recommend the course to a friend and over 99.7% rated the course as very good or excellent. Students who had attended longer courses were keen to point out that Medi-Quest was much more focused to the practicalities of getting into medical school and more importantly consistently have rated us as better!
Ultimately you have to choose whether or not you wish to attend a pre-med course, how much time and money you can afford, whether you want an all-inclusive package without expensive and unnecessary add-ons and whether you want a course provided by clinicians directly involved in medical education and assessment or one provided by non-medical "educationalists". If you do decide to join us for one of our courses you can be assured of an enjoyable, informative, and fun-filled day with useful gifts, lots of doctors and students to talk to and everything we can do to help you to achieve your ambition. Whether you join us or not, we wish you every success with your application.
There are many factors, other than your academic achievements which will determine your success. Do not leave your preparation too late. Potentially excellent future doctors do not get accepted into medical school because they fail to demonstrate their unique qualities.
We will help you to prepare for the UKCAT exam and show you how to construct an outstanding personal statement. We will help you to focus your interview preparation and provide guidance for your referee. Work experience is essential, but medically related work experience can be difficult to secure. We will help you to realise the value and significance of any experiences you have managed to obtain.
We will give you an honest explanation of what medical training involves and allow you to ask our medical students all of the questions you may have thought of.
