I qualified from Oxford University in 1989 and moved back up North working in hospitals in Preston and Manchester. I took time out in 1996 to do a PhD and was appointed a consultant in gastroenterology in 2001 before recently being appointed as Clinical Director for Gastroenterology and Respiratory Medicine at Salford Royal Teaching Hospital. I have always enjoyed teaching students and actively participate in undergraduate lectures. I am a PBL tutor, OSCE examiner for Manchester medical school and a medical school interviewer. I co-founded Medi-Quest in response to the needs of local work experience students and to give potential doctors the best chance of obtaining a place at medical school.

I qualified from St George's Medical School in London in 1997. As well as being a consultant in Acute Medicine and Gastroenterology I am also the Clinical Director for Emergency Medicine and Care of the Elderly at Salford Royal NHS Trust. I am actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate education. I am an OSCE examiner and interviewer for Manchester medical school as well as an honorary lecturer with Manchester Medical School. When I applied to do medicine I did not really know what the course involved or what life as a doctor would be like. I am lucky because I have never regretted my career choice but sadly have seen some medical students who are very dissatisfied.

I qualified from the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine in London in 1998. I work as a General Practitioner in Greater Manchester. A significant proportion of doctors ultimately become GPs so my role in the morning is to explain a little bit more about this career choice. I am a GP trainer of Specialist trainees in General Practice. I also have an interest in family planning and paediatric surveillance
