Medi-Quest aims to provide everything you need from a pre-med course in an enjoyable, relaxed atmosphere. The content is specifically focused to avoid unnecessary preparation but everything you need to know is covered in detail. The undergraduate venue adds genuine insight to your chosen career.
The morning lectures are short and concise. Subjects include NHS structure and organisation, a day in the life of a medical student, junior doctor, consultant and GP. How to write a great personal statement, how to score highly in the UKCAT exam, how to prepare for interview, how to choose your medical school and what qualities make a good doctor. Relevant comprehensive handouts are provided.
The afternoon sessions involves small group work with hands on experience of medical student teaching, the chance to use your stethoscope and practice suturing on artificial skin, important practical skills such as first aid and basic life support to enhance your CV. There are interactive sessions on how to structure & write that killer UCAS personal statement as well as common ethical dilemmas encountered during the medical school interview.
